Poker etiquette

Although Poker is an amusing pastime, is it that only, if the play runs calm and in an appropriate rate. For this, the dealer, who controls the play happening, carries the major part of the responsibility, but also the players can contribute, that Poker does not become boring, uninteresting or chaotic. Here you will be informed, what is expected, when you take a seat at a poker table somewhere between Las Vegas and Vienna.

Each activity runs in a given order. Opposite all other players, it is unfair to transact an activity outside of this order. Wait till it is your turn before you bring a stake, raise or pass.

Do not throw the jetons into the pot, but place your stakes in front of your seat at the table. The jetons will only collected after the end of the setting round, when all stakes are transacted, because otherwise the dealer and also your partners have no overview how much was set. Insert it clearly, if you like to raise. If a raise was not announced and this intention does not follow unique from the transacted stake, this raise is invalid. If you pass, shift your covered cards away from you. You can also turn the open cards. Make your decisions in a moderate time interval and do not overcharge the patience of your partners.

Always leave the cards on or over the table. From a player, who holds his cards under the table or leaves with the cards the table, it is assumed, that he does not have something the play helpful in mind.

Do not speak about your hand during the play. Also if you are already not in the play. These information could result in an unfair advantage for a partner.

You can only play with the money, which lays on your place, before the beginning of the play. If your money should not reach up to the end, you can play ALL In. All other players, who set in more money, open a separate Pot (Sidepot), which you cannot win, because you did not deposit anything into this sidepot. But you remain in the play up to the end and you can win the pot, in which you have set your money.

During a play it is not allowed to put additional money or jetons on the table. This is always possible between the plays. Removing money or jetons is only allowed, if you terminate the play and leave the table. Paying your catering bill with money or jetons from the table is permitted.

Open all your cards with the showdown. Only so the hands can be compared by the dealer and the winner determined.

You can express the esteem for a dealer by give him a gratuity. So you can thank him for the pot winning and his professional mode of operation. The height of the graduity should orient by the pot height.
